St. Thomas Parish offers a Parish School of Religion (PSR) for children in grades 1-8 who do not have Catholic religious education classes in their schools. The program intend to help parents as they hand on the faith to children. The program also integrates with our sacramental program to help prepare children to receive the sacraments of First Reconcilation, First Communion, and Confirmation.
Classes are typically held Wednesday evenings 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. during the academic year.
This year, due to the various restrictions associated with COVID-19, our program will begin remotely. This will apply for the Fall semester. We will make a determination for the Spring semester at a later date, but our hope is that we can hold in-person classes. For the Fall:
The Wednesday evening class structure will alternate weeks between
15-25 minute pre-recorded instruction videos from the teacher coupled with some work from the text (available electronically) and online resources.
These would be available online for several days.
25-30 minute video class discussions facilitated by the teacher.
These would begin at 7:00 p.m. on the designated Wednesdays.
A parent meeting will be held Wednesday, September 9.
Instruction for students begins Wednesday, September 16.
There will be additional elements for First Communion and Confirmation classes.
