As of 2/26/2020, we have recevied pledged totaling
$2,292,582
of our
$2,275,000 goal.
THANK YOU!
We want the next generation to experience God’s love. We want to see Saint Thomas grow. We want to see Saint Thomas become the very best parish that it can be. We want to look toward the future together. We have a vision for the future of Saint Thomas, a bright future where we are working to better fulfill our mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ. A vision where our resources are used to enable our mission to expand and grow. A vision where our priorities are focused on Jesus Christ and his Church.
The time has come for us to upgrade our facilities in a significant way and build up our cash reserves to handle unforeseen expenses. We’re excited to officially kick off a campaign that will help us address both issues head on: facilities and finances. This campaign is about our vision, about our future.
This campaign is supported by a recent feasibility study involving many Saint Thomas families. An overwhelming majority of families surveyed indicated that they would consider supporting a campaign geared to improve facilities and our financial condition. After considering our need, and the response of the community, Bishop Foys has granted us approval to begin a capital campaign. The theme selected for this campaign is Forward in Faith: Stewards of Our Gifts.
Our goal is to raise $2.275 million to address critical needs and to move us into the future. Since coming to Saint Thomas, we have discussed the needs of our parish with the Facilities and Finance Committees. They have provided us with valuable support and have unanimously agreed that this campaign, as laid out here, is the best way forward for our parish.
We are blessed by the many people who share their time, talents and treasure to support the Parish of Saint Thomas. This is true for those who serve on our Campaign Committee as well. We are grateful that Fr. Al Ruschman, who has been a staple of St. Thomas for more than 20 years, has agreed to serve as the Campaign Honorary Chair and Matt Hollenkamp has graciously agreed to lead the overall campaign as General Chair. The Steering Committee will also include a representative from the finance council Greg Middendorf, along with a representative from the facilities committee Erich Wagner and our St. Thomas School principal Deborah Flamm.
We are all called to be stewards of the gifts that we have received. Indeed, at Saint Thomas we are the recipients of such wonderful gifts and the sacrifices of those who have gone before us. Our Church stands as a testament to the faith of generations before us. Now is the time for us to ensure that this gift can continue to bear fruit for the future generations of our community’s families. This is an opportunity for us all to make a difference in the life of our parish. The success of this campaign, and the success of our parish, requires us all to participate and give as those who have gone before us. It’s time for us to tend our Holy Ground. Our Parish. Our Home of faith.
Ultimately, the Forward in Faith: Stewards of Our Gifts campaign is not about buildings; it is about ensuring Saint Thomas is on a stable foundation for today and the future. Let the Holy Spirit guide us as we prayerfully consider our commitment.
